UPDATE 18/6/2020

Due to recent developments regarding sexual abuse in independent wrestling, winners found to be tied up in this scandal will have their EuroGraps.com awards stripped and awarded to the next eligible recipient. The remainder of this article will remain the same for posterity. Any future references to the 2019 EuroGraps.com Awards will reflect the new results.

In one of the least surprising results of the awards season – David Starr picked up the final prize. Since moving over to the UK in late 2018, Starr has been omnipresent all across Europe featuring prominently in most of the European majors including OTT, wXw, Rev Pro and PROGRESS as well as being a popular headliner for smaller promotions that wouldn’t regularly get a name of his calibre. As you can tell by the other awards – Starr consistently had the ‘best’ matches and storylines which made him an absolute shoe-in.

In a surprising second place was The OJMO – which is an outstanding result for someone who has been wrestling for little over two and a half years at this point. Oku’s upturn can be attributed to his strong work ethic and willingness to work everywhere – which has helped him break into Rev Pro, PROGRESS and OTT and get meaningful matches and storylines. In particular – Oku’s journey from being a contender’s division member to the number-one challenger for El Phantasmo’s British Cruiserweight belt in Rev Pro is worth checking out. OJMO is having an Ospreay-esque upturn in his skill and ability and it’s only a matter of time before this guy becomes one of the biggest things in European independent wrestling.
